Anthony Willis

Coach Anthony Willis was born and raised in Alief, Tx. Coach Anthony graduated from Alief Taylor High School in 2005; where he was a two-sport varsity player in basketball and track. After graduating from high school, Coach Anthony attended McMurry University, Temple College and played four years of college basketball in the Long Star College System Conference and graduated from University of Houston-Downtown with a Bachelor’s in Corporate Communications. 

 

Coach Anthony Willis has lived his life to help serve others through the game of basketball. His strong relationship with his faith led him to start his own non-profit organization The Body Is A Temple. It has led to 10successful years of coaching athletes helping them gain scholarships at the Division I, II & III level, along with helping inner city high school athletes and international athletes learn the game of basketball and receive a college education. It is his passion for the game and serving others that led to single idea of creating his organization that has helped him impact the lives of hundreds of young men and women.

 

Coach Anthony Willis began coaching in 2008 as an assistant coach for the “Gym Hoopers”. After his tenure with the "Gym Hoopers", he continued to coach for several other AAU organizations like Houston Flight, Unknown Ambassadors and Alodia Sports Academy. It was with Alodia Sports Academy that he managed 5 AAU teams, Individual training, and conducting basketball camps. His work with Alodia awarded him the opportunity to work with Gannon Baker who is a world-renowned basketball trainer. Coach Anthony’s extensive resume includes 16 years of coaching experience which includes Lone Star Tomball College, 2010-2015, Concordia Lutheran High School, 2015-2018, 2021-2022 and Second Baptist High School, 2019-2020. Coach Anthony Willis during his tenure at Concordia Lutheran High School reached the Final Four State Finals 3 out of his four years there, 2 State Finals Appearance. It was during his time at Concordia, he was a part of the coaching staff which won a TAPPS 6A state title with a 43-1 record season. Coach Anthony Willis played a major role in the recruitment and strength and conditioning program during his tenure at Concordia Lutheran High School. While at Second Baptist High School, he coached the 8th grade team, which won the Houston Junior Preparatory Conference city title with a record of 28-1.  

 

While coaching at various high schools, Coach Anthony Willis began getting involved with performance training in the North Houston area. Impressed with his passion and commitment to youth development he quickly became a popular figure among elite high school and professional athletes. Coach Anthony Willis has trained college athletes including Yosani Clay (Western Oregon), Nathan McClure (Le Moyne), Jaylen Wysinger (Texas Southern), Josh Davis (Eastern Texas Baptist University), Trae McClure (Trevecca Nazarene University), Jamill Muttilb (Kilgore College), Trey Swayzer (Coast Bend College), Joey Clavin (Nebraska Wesleyan), Jarrick Baines (Miles College), Evan Palmquist (Missouri Baptist), Keynan Holcombe (University of Incarnate Word), Trey South (Central Arkansas University), Jordan Williams (Vanderbilt University). Coach Anthony has now taken his performance training to the next level and has started working with professional athletes like AJ Lawson (HonkaFinland), Sha’markus Kennedy (Trotamundos BBC Valencia), KeyShawn Feazell (Salon Vilpas Finland), and Marko Susic (Admiral Bet, Serbia).

 

Coach Anthony Willis has also been involved with a variety of national exposure camps and scouting services including John Lucas Camp, Future 150 Camps, OTR Exposure Camps, and Ball So Hard Prospect Camp and recruiting services. Coach Anthony Willis is also the Event Director for Ball So Hard.
